The consultancy was set up in 2006 – though Caroline Greene has been working as a freelance consultant for some 25 years. Clients approach us to develop creative interventions to help free up deadlocked negotiations; to handle difficult personal and business situations; to provide a fresh viewpoint on problems that have been intractable – and to generated innovative strategies directed at changing relationship dynamics.
The starting point for what we do is based on strategic pattern intervention. Translated, the aim is to break into the – usually unquestioned – patterns that prevent resolution; and to provide new strategies and patterns that will generate a better outcome.
Over the years, we have been involved in projects ranging from managing the process (and aftermath) of the break up of a large family business – to the ending of the “Groundhog Day” misery of annual (totally dysfunctional) family Christmas dinners… replacing this by something more enjoyable for everyone involved! Despite the fact that the respective clients regarded both of these projects as having been successfully resolved, the relieving of the Christmas lunch distress was considered the more challenging and life enhancing!
The principles of strategic pattern intervention can be applied to a broad range of impasses. Our aim is to provide extra options for clients to take up – not to provide absolute instructions. Clients can only effectively utilise whatever feels comfortable for them.
